Japanese hooked on blood-type books for self-analysis

Japanese readers, particularly young women, are snapping up a series of books about blood types to analyze their personalities and behavior.

The books have been put on sale since the first one, titled ‘‘B Gata: Jibunno Setsumeisho’’ (Blood type B: My Explanation), was published in September 2007. It instantly became a bestseller with sales totaling more than a million copies, according to Tokyo publisher Bungeisha Co.

Other titles that followed the initial publication dealt with blood types A, AB and O. Bungeisha said that altogether, 5.4 million copies have been sold. Read the article here.....
